From the editors

Courtney Fleming (Staff Editor) and I are happy to publish the summer edition of the newsletter and we hope that you will find it to be a useful update on department activities. It’s great to be able to give department-wide recognition of our members’ arrivals, departures, awards, publications, and other significant events. 

“Psychiatry Connection” newsletter started in 2018 as an initiative by our Chair, Dr. Scott Rodgers, who was still new to the department at that time. Since then, we have published three editions a year, in the spring, summer, and winter. The newsletter has documented many successes and transitions in the department since 2018, and we hope that the tradition will continue with future editions. This will be my last edition as the newsletter Editor, as I transition to other work in the department to focus on the CHAMP team’s efforts to improve pediatric mental health care access in Mississippi.  Many thanks to Courtney for all of her hard work as the Staff Editor and for making the publication of each newsletter timely and relevant. 

“Psychiatry Connection” depends on contributions from all of you --- faculty, staff, and trainees. Please send us anything that you would like to see in the next issue in December. We especially seek submission of photos (with captions, please), announcements, updates, awards, studies, events, or anything of interest (or fun!). Please click the "Got an idea?
